Berowra RSL Sub Branch Youth Swimming Club
We are a community based club for swimmers from 4 years to 24 years who want to prepare for school races and want a bit more than just swimming lessons. The Club is a great way to learn what swimming is all about. We have handicapped races every Sunday and Zone, State and Club competitions throughout the season.
We emphasise that we are a FUN club where you can learn a bit more of what swimming is all about, including racing in a fun and friendly competition. The swimmers ENJOY themselves and are competing against kids with similar swimming abilities and times.
Vision and Assistance
The Club’s vision is not to turn out potential Olympians but to give children the confidence in themselves as swimmers.
Throughout the season we require assistance from parents to help with timekeeping and marshalling etc. With the assistance of parents we are able to run a very successful fun club – thank you.
Berowra RSL Sub Branch
The Sub-Branch are the “old diggers” – returned servicemen and women including widows. They support the youth of Australia by way of cadets, various youth clubs within the Sub Branch and also outside including various scholarships. These funds are raised by way of Legacy, Anzac Day and Remembrance Day badges, members fees etc and goes back into the community to help the ‘youth of Australia’.
Swimming Scholarships
Each year the Jim & Roberta Hughes Award is presented to a swimmer that demonstrates potential and meets requirements. The award is to develop a swimmers potential by the use of squads and/or lessons from a swimming coach.
This will be awarded through the RSL Sub-Branch by an independent judge.
Application details can be found here along with a list of past winners of the award.
